Karaoke night, host a local band with a following, ladies night, contests w/ prizes, drink specials, target a specific crowd and offer what appeals to them the most (quiet& upscale or loud & busy or full of goths & emo etc…..) Hire a HOT male waiter and single women will flock in just for his smile and appeal. Personally I loathe sports and avoid anywhere with televisions blaring some stupid game but if that's your target market buy GREAT televisions and a surround sound system even for sports.

With social media, it is important to understand that it opens a two way street for communication. That sounds simple, but I see so many marketers using social media to advertise (i.e. tell customers something), and not really talk with them.

Whether it is Twitter or Facebook, you'll gain more attention posting information/content that educates the reader and leaves them with something. For example, when I lived in the Midwest, I had to make sure this time of year that I had windshield washer fluid in my car that would not freeze. Otherwise, what a mess. So, you could send a message out to your followers reminding them to do that, or maybe that it is time to fertilize the lawn, etc. This would make you more helpful to the customer than a competitor and may swing business your way.

Make sure though, if you start this type of marketing that someone monitors it and answers questions. Followers/Friends may become disconnected if they ask a questions and it stays unanswered for a long time.

Best Wishes!

Local offline advertising is often overlooked as a great way of effective promotion for any business. I’ve used this method with great results many times over the years. If you’re looking for a free way to advertise your business to 10,000 people locally, this might be just what you’re lookng for.

I also love the fact that every time I’ve used this method I’ve made sevral hundred in a few days PLUS got my own ad(s) out to 10,000 local people for FREE!

How come internet marketing isn’t an option here?

Besides Traffic Geyser, there is a free service called Tube Mogul. It works in much the same way. Additionally there is a software package I found called Tube Mastery (http://www.websitemarketingskills.com/recommends/TubeMastery) which works really well in terms of how to market on YouTube. The same basic information is true on the other sites, as well. Use your profile page to link to your site and use calls to action to get people to respond. I would just buy that program and familiarize yourself with it.

No this type of advertising does not work. That is the "shotgun" approach by doing different types of marketing approaches with out any direction, thought or purpose. This type of approach has slim success with things such as announcing an event of some sort but not actual marketing, people are more inclined to contact that person to tell them not to do it again. A better approach would be to send out promotional items like pens, pencils, post its. that way when ever someone is going for the phone to call they see that number and business.

Here are a few links that should help:

Jungle, it sounds like you’ve worked hard in the past few months to build your business. So, you’ve laid the foundation for growth. Now, the trick is to build on the often hidden successes.

The best marketers for your business are, of course, the folks who have already visited you. I would start with them at the center of your bulls-eye and build from there. I wouldn’t spend a lot of money marketing to new potential customers; instead focus on those who already like you and get them to be your “sneezers,” spreading the virus of your business. (I assume you have all their names and addresses since they had to sign waivers.)

For instance, if the kids had fun, invite them back for a visit with a “bring a friend for free” offer. Each kid bringing a friend means the potential for exponential word of mouth growth. As they are leaving from that half-price offer, give both kids a coupon for the same “bring a friend” offer if they come back within 2 weeks. You get the picture: Make the kids the word-of-mouth agents for your business. (By the way, make sure your staff treats every kid as special; nothing spreads quicker than bad word of mouth.)

Another idea is to make your business a destination for birthday parties. Consider offering free cakes or some other deal for the birthday boy or girl. Even during tough economic times, parents want their kids to feel special on their birthdays, so play that card. Just like many restaurants survive on their catering businesses, serving groups might just be your ticket: Offer your facility at a steep discount for Boys and Girls Clubs, school groups and other organizations. (It won’t hurt to be known around town as the caring good guy, either.)

I wouldn’t spend much money online or in local papers at this point, but you might pin flyers to the local coffee shop bulletin boards, trying to reach parents. In short, you’re trying to become front of mind for fun. For guerrilla marketing resources, you might check Jay Conrad Levinson’s site at http://www.gmarketing.com.

D or so at this time but can be improved:
I think you are trying to stuff too many things into the essay so it doesn't flow very well. Maybe do an outline on what you want to say first. It should flow but right now I can't figure out what one paragraph has to do with the other let alone within each paragraph. For example, your fist paragraph starts about teaching people how to make money then you talk about Bill Gates and Shawn Carter dropping out of school, then other stuff.
Instead of doing a business 101 in an essay, pick the part you can elaborate on more. What stands out most when reading is creating a business out of an idea. Use that but stick to the subject without going off on other things or it sounds a bit "flighty".

You need to make sure you have a period after each complete sentence. You are missing a bunch of comma's.

Leave out personal opinions like "that disgusts me" and unproven accusations.

FYI: The cliche "Good things happened to those that wait" is a reference to patience – not sitting and doing nothing.

I think you can turn this into an A or B paper if you do an outline first, don't try to cover too many things in a short essay, make your story connect from one point to the next, and stay focused on your topic. The point you keep coming back to is taking and idea or dream and make a business out of it. Stick to those examples because the other examples don't hit that message.
